Moorefield Underage Hurling Training resumed Sunday morning, 5th March, in Red Lane. The U8s and U9s had a super session. The boys were very keen to get back into the swing of things after the Winter break and showed great enthusiasm and energy. A big fáilte to a couple of new faces who slotted perfectly into the group. Looking forward to next week already!
We’re back in the clubhouse every Monday night, 6.30-7.30pm
New players are always welcome.
Hurls and helmets are provided.
Under 10 blitz in St. Rynagh’s today. The boys did very well getting to the “A” semifinal. Congratulations to the team and management.
A wonderful celebration of hurling was held in Moorefield this afternoon in what is now becoming an annual U10 hurling blitz. Moorefield welcomed Blessington, Cappagh, Rathangan, Sallins and Two-Mile-House to round off the U10 season. A great standard of hurling was on display by our future stars. At least one player from each club achieved in the Skills Challenge. Well done to Blessington who were overall winners of the blitz.
A special thank you to our caterers Stephanie, Clodagh, Lisa and Riona who were assisted by Niamh, Orla and Ciara and also to Bridin for helping out earlier. A thank you to our three referees and especially to David Coleman who co-ordinated match scores and the Skills Challenge.
Our Moorefield U10 stars were Alex, Brian, Cian, Darragh, Eoin, John, Karl, Michael, Robbie, Sean & Tom. Congrats to all of you!
Our U-10 footballers & hurlers were playing on the Curragh race track today in exhibition matches for the Parish Race Day. Well done all.
Training resumes Sunday 6th March 10.30- 11.30… New players always welcome.
Training reverts back to Monday nights on 4th April.
Well done to all the teams who took part in todays hurling blitz in the club. There were great displays of hurling from every team at both U10 and U14. Congratulations to Blessington who won the U10 category and to Rathangan who won the U14 category. Well done to Moorefield U10’s who played with great skill and tenacity. The little Moorefield Lions are improving all the time.
Well done to the U10 hurlers who played Gracefield (Portarlington) yesterday evening. It was a good evenly matched game with good scores coming from both teams. It was great to see players getting more comfortable on the ball and going for scores when in position. Also there were side steps, conversion of 65’s, a long range goal, hand passing to a player who was unmarked. Tom Corry pulled off three great saves, defence was solid with Emmett Christie, Damien O’Connor and Adam Smith. Midfield of Alex Bell, Conor Price and Ben Hensey worked endlessly and never stopped trying. The forwards of Tara Christie, Chris O’Conor and Darragh Holland made every effort to make every ball that came their way into a score. The Little Moorefield Lions kept their focus and never took their eye off the ball for start to finish. Well done everybody.
Training is back to Monday night 6.30-7.30 from 30th March.
New players always welcome!
